Secrets in the Dark Season 1
An investigative series at the edge of science and the supernatural — unusual discoveries in Earth's darkest places, from ancient tombs to cursed artefacts, tested against folklore with experts, archives, and reconstructions.
Secrets in the Dark works where light fails: tombs, sealed chambers, isolated sites where folklore and evidence refuse to agree. Season 1 tests rational explanations against supernatural claims — cursed artefacts, eerie finds, unexplained phenomena — using experts, archives, and reconstructions to keep the investigation honest even when the stories aren't.
For Shark Teeth we stood up a custom pipeline sized for dense episodic delivery: forty-plus shots per hour, four hundred-plus across the run, averaging twenty-five to forty-five seconds each. Low-light environments, artefact builds, and atmosphere passes combine real-time VFX, 3D spaces, and custom 2D/3D assets — every shot hand-animated and rendered with a pseudo-real finish that survives broadcast scrutiny while leaving room to revise fast on a factual budget. As with the rest of the slate, roughly ten percent of the package is 2D; the rest holds the volume of darkness itself.
Greenlit alongside Discovered by Disaster in Boat Rocker's 2024 Shark Teeth deal and delivered in 2025, the series extends the Secrets franchise into the uncanny. The open sets the contract with the audience: we will look — carefully — into the dark.
