Hilda

Hilda is a Netflix original adapted from Luke Pearson's graphic novels — a series that lives on hand-drawn atmosphere, careful character acting, and a world that feels both mythic and neighbourly. Our contribution sits in that 2D pipeline: layout, Leica, and the kind of board-to-picture craft that has to stay true to the books while moving at series pace.

The work is character-first. Every pass has to read as Hilda's world — the weather, the architecture of Trolberg, the humour in a glance — without drifting into generic adventure-cartoon language. That means tight boards, considered timing, and a finish that holds up next to the rest of the show.

The series ran three seasons on Netflix from 2018 through 2023 and remains one of the most distinctive animated originals of the last decade. This page collects the pieces we can show from that run.
